I loved this book, I could not put it down. The mystery, the flashback interludes to the past, the whole thing was incredible. I was constantly on the edge of my seat! I love how seamless the tie-in to the next mystery after Stevie solved the Ellingham case was. The series didn't drag on her solving the case throughout all of the books and it honestly makes me even more excited for the next book! Even though the central mystery of the past has been solved Stevie still has the option to figure out where the men Marsh hired took Alice so we can still be immersed in the 1930s while she solved the murder of Dr. Fenton. The writing is incredible, the story is gripping, and I am running to my nearest bookstore to grab anything with Maureen Johnson's name on it!
