The Underdog
by Briar Prescott
A lie that leads to a forever love.
I love Anders and his rambling, you just never know what will come out of his mouth. He had me snickering, giggling and laughing out loud at his wit and humour. He is also one stubborn man who will complete a triathlon after telling his siblings many years ago that it was a dream of his. Pity it was a lie that they never forgot and organised his entry for him as a present!
This brings Wells into his orbit as his trainer. Wells is bitter and angry after a life changing incident and really just wants to wallow so he tries to get Anders to fire him.
So begins a relationship that slowly brings a no longer bitter Wells back out into the world and one that teaches Anders that he is worthy, capable and enough. A minor miscommunication doesn’t hinder them and the epilogue really encapsulates who they are and why they have a forever love together.
I loved every moment of their engaging low angst romance and I’m smiling now just thinking about it.
