This book reminded me so much of a 90s teen slasher movie and not in a bad way. It was an enjoyable read for people like me, who want to be a tiny bit “scared” without reading a straight horror.

Campfire was a quick read with some fun nostalgia of watching movies like Scream or I Know What You Did Last Summer. Although, I actually expected the stories told around the campfire to be a bit scarier or... just more somehow? They fell a bit short of my expectations.

I’d recommend Campfire for the Halloween/fall mood reader, but probably not for someone who is looking for an intense psychological thriller or horror.
