I got this as an ARC & it did not disappoint! The writing style reminds me of the Spellbreaker series. I love that this fantasy book is full of feminism, well developed characters, people to like and dislike, a society in need of changing, & a plot that’s interesting enough to make me want to read books 2 & 3 (which #protip are on Kindle Unlimited)! Plus as a former DC resident I love anything set in the DMV on principle!
