Keeping the Moon
by Sarah Dessen
Keeping the Moon was the second Sarah Dessen book I've read. The plot was easy to follow and the characters were well written. Colie, the protagonist is very relatable to anyone who has ever felt like they don't fit in. There was romance, which is to be expected and was a nice addition. Unlike a lot of contemporary fiction where romance is the centre of the story, the romance in Keeping the Moon is not the main focus. Instead it focuses on friendship and discovering one's true self. This book showed me that being who you are is more important than being someone society wants me to be. I recommend this book to anyone and will be looking for more Sarah Dessen on the shelves at my library.
