As a non-immigrant there were poems about homesickness I can only understand on a conceptual level, but the empathetic feeling still rings true. Those of us from broken homes all have a vague nostalgia that clings to our hearts like a homesickness we all feel.
This was a beautiful exploration of growth, strength, and confidence in ones own ability to survive and thrive despite our own crumbling buildings and hurricanes.
The overarching metaphor of cities and human beings being used interchangeably and also distinctly was incredible.
