The Sinking of the Titanic: Survivor Stories by Logan Marshal, Bruce M. Caplan
4.0

The incredible thing about this book, is it showed so much the movie titanic got wrong. I have this obsession with the titanic that even I can't explain, and as a 15 time veteran of watching the movie and watching Molly Brown go back for those people....to learn she never did, made me want to watch it again; this time with a more judgmental reason. As I watched I noticed things they left out, such as the rich men helping poor women into the boats and the suction? There wasn't nearly as much as they made it out to be. This book explained a lot to me including the way the ship sank, and how new York prepared for the survivors; things the movie never touched on. I wish the book had more memoirs from survivors and had personal stories but I understand this wasn't that kind of book that needed a lot of them. I highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to learn the true facts of The Sinking of the Titanic.
