I struggle with contemporary novels a lot of the time (big fantasy/mystery nerd in case you can't tell from my storygraph stats!) But this story allowed me to dive in and follow eagerly. Maybe the graphic novel setting is a better way for me to absorb contemporary stories. The attack is gorgeous, and I love the colour scheme. I felt old reading this book - my high school experience did not look like this book re: queerness, but I wish it had. I'm so glad this book exists.
