Granite Harbor: A Novel
by Peter Nichols
mysterious
slow-paced
Horrific killings of teens and animal cruelty made this a hard read. The frogs were disgusting parts of the murders that I had to cover my mouth so I didn't throw up.
I knew who was the killer pretty early and the reasons why they did what they did are many.
I really wanted to know if the way a book went down was the real way they went down or was it a cover-up, I didn't see a resolution to it.
I empathized with Alex. He's a divorced guy who has a bit of a loony ex wife and is dealing with a teen daughter all at the same time as trying to solve these crimes as the some police detective in this small town. It was weird to throw in Isabel's "abilities" as part of her character...I just don't see that fitting in.
