I heard about this book during a conference session where the author, Dr. Victor Montori, talked about his vision for a health care revolution lead by patients. Since I am dealing with chronic health stuff, I was intrigued and then in awe of his perspective/philosophy. I looked for the book and had to bring it in through ILL from a university two provinces away! So worth it. His book is all about the issues he sees in the industrial healthcare system as it currently exists (burnout for patients and doctors, money and stats as a priority vs kindness and care, etc.). He also includes ways he thinks we could fix it. A must read for health professionals and everyone experiencing a need for healthcare!
