My first historical romance!

Very Jane Austen's Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett vibes from the main characters Annabelle and Sebastien.

She is- stubborn/proud - attending Oxford and a suffragette working to sway men of influence to the cause (The Married Women's Property Act- women being allowed to own property and thus being able to vote). He is a cold, proud Duke tasked by the queen to ensure the Tory party comes out victorious in the upcoming election. Totally at odds but drawn to one another. He is fascinated by her intelligence and how she challenges his ways of thinking. She is finding that he is a clever and passionate man behind his aloof exterior.

The tension surrounding their class differences really made this engaging.

Light spice - this was definitely a romance with light spice, not a spicy romance.
