I initially started Starsight straight after finishing Skyward, and that was a mistake. They're really very different books and I was quite disappointed by the changes.
When I went back to the book some time later, I was able to enjoy it a lot more without making such direct comparisons. It is exciting, intriguing and at times tense, with interesting worldbuilding and politics. I opted for the audiobook, which proved an excellent choice as it is narrated by Sophie Aldred, who is absolutely perfect as Spensa.
I still don't think Starsight is as great as book one - I rated it half a star lower - but it is still a really good book and the ending left me desperate for book three.
