I loved this so much I bought it TWICE. Started listening on audio (narrated by the brilliant author herself) and halfway through went out and bought a hardcover too because I simply couldn't not invest in it. I just finished listening and I'm going to go home and flip through the print copy again because there are so many important quotes & ideas to remember and take note of. If I could go ahead and sign up for the college courses she teaches, I'd do that too!

Brittney Cooper is a wildly intelligent and, cough, eloquent woman. I was absolutely floored in chapter 1 by not just her sheer grace and resolute delivery of difficult subjects but also her lack of tolerance for intolerance based on blind racial loyalty. Her words effortlessly weave between personal essay and sociological evaluation of current/past events and the presentation is flawless. The personal anecdotes tie together bigger picture examples of injustice and bigotry which makes her rage more accessible to anybody willing to listen. I haven't yet read [b:This Will Be My Undoing: Living at the Intersection of Black, Female, and Feminist in (White) America|36025780|This Will Be My Undoing Living at the Intersection of Black, Female, and Feminist in (White) America|Morgan Jerkins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1518383589s/36025780.jpg|52959624] but it's on my TBR list and I have a feeling fans of TWBMU might also love Eloquent Rage.
