The Stranger You Know
by Andrea Kane
I enjoyed the journey through this book - well, as much as one can when reading about a twisted serial killer. The scene between Claire and Leilah was especially good - they hash things out over Ryan like grown women instead of immature teenagers and then move on! And talk about things that aren't men! It's a miracle and that's a sad fact.
Then it all goes downhill for me when the ONLY TWO WOMEN ON THE TEAM ARE KIDNAPPED AND HAVE TO BE RESCUED BY THE MENFOLK. Seriously? Claire, I could understand being unaware because all the danger was pointing at Casey, though it seems like an incredible oversight on the part of the "professionals" (Hutch & Marc) of the team not to imagine this scenario.
Casey? Surely after getting the text and photo of Claire's situation, she should have known that this was a trap. This sort of shit is what she does for a living. The fact that Jack just sneaks up on her with chloroform is hard for me to stomach.
Overall, not my favorite in the series, but not a total disaster either. I will still pick up the next book and hope for better things.
