The Wide Starlight
by Nicole Lesperance
I think this was a great story about grief and losing a parent, I really liked how Norwegian fairytales were used to tell us stories about Eline and her mother, but the transitions from our storyline to the fairytales felt a bit off. I also thought Eline was incredibly selfish and childish, I tried to understand her because I've also lost a parent, but her behavior was just not it. However, the author absolutely nailed the magical, rich imagery of apparitions, meteorites, and narwhals. While I disliked more than I liked, this was still a super enjoyable book.
