Ready Player One by Ernest Cline

Phenomenal. This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. To describe it, take the Westing Game, throw in some Hunger Games, add a dash of the movie Pixels, give Ender the controls, and then like a Goonie NEVER SAY DIE! Most of us should recognize the name Mark Zuckerberg. Well Mr. Halliday is more reclusive then him, and built the ultimate social platform, and video game, and library, and ... but Mr. Halliday has died with no family. The OASIS, a massive multiplayer virtual reality life, and the biggest cash cow in the universe now has no leader. Mr. Halliday didn't want just some big money hungry conglomeration to take control in his passing. He wanted someone as devoted to the OASIS as he was to lead it into the future. On his death a game started. The winner of the game would get control of the company and the fortune that come with it. But to play the game you had to geek all things 80's.

Wade is a gunter. He spends his life in the OASIS. He spends his life searching for the three digital keys that will allow him to pass through the gates of the OASIS and grant him control. But it is a dangerous journey, both online and in life. To say any more is to give too much away. So go READ this. But before you start ask yourself, are you READY PLAYER ONE?
