Murderbot has PTSD.

That's the main thing in this novel, and it is looked at through the eyes of Murderbot, and through some notes from Bharadwaj. It's struggling at not feeling 100%, not feeling itself, in a way that it hasn't done before.
It's afraid
and struggling with internal self-doubt, and a jaded feeling.

More time is dedicated to MB and ARTs relationship, and how they interact with new systems they find.

The time spent here with ARTs humans, MB's team, and all their relationships is really touching. For the conclusion, how they
tackle the Barish-Estranza issue by making a short documentary with emotional undertones - MB's idea!
is genius, and pulls on some new characters and coincides with MB's
growing acceptance of what they are, what they can/can't do, and that it's truly okay to not be yourself when you have others who care for you

Interested where the series will go from here.
