rachelelizabeth 's review for:
I Am Number Four
by Pittacus Lore
I post book reviews like this on my blog, Rachel's Reading. For hundreds more like this, check it out!
In this book, we meet John, who is actually an alien, and his keeper Henri. It turns out that there is a threat, and in order for all of these aliens to survive and continue the race, they have to be killed in a certain order which should be unknown. However it isn't unknown anymore, and John is number four. The first three aliens are dead, and now they are on the hunt for him.
I wanted to like this book. I really really did. The plot idea was amazing at first sight, seemed interesting, heard hype. But then the actual book. John was annoying, Sarah was THE WORST (I mean who just jumps on someone in the middle of a battle scene), and mostly predictable. I won’t read the rest of the series, but Henri was a badass, and now that I know James Frey wrote this book? Leaves a sour taste in my mouth. If you didn't know this, Full Fathom Five, the publishing company who publishes this series consistently rips off budding authors and forces them to output large amounts of books in the hopes of franchising them and finding the next Twilight. You can find more details on that here.
