The Subtle Knife by Philip Pullman
5.0

The Subtle Knife is perhaps my favourite from this series because of how it started. In The Golden Compass, Lyra's world, even though she lived in Oxford and her world has the same geographical landmarks like ours, is very different. Firstly they have panserbjørne, daemon, witches, and all sorts of magical other worldly creatures. In Will's world, though, it's pretty much like ours. I love to read about how mundane it is, then he found another world and it became a thousand times more interesting. I love to see that kind of change, that shift from the regular, boring, old world, to the new magical one and in this book, it's a world where adults don't exist, where there's the subtle knife which could cut into anything and open doors to other worlds. It was an amazing, magical read with a cliffhanger for an ending. This book will keep you continuously sitting at the edge of your seat!
