I was disappointed with this book. This book was published when “Instapoetry” was really popular so many of the poems were very short. The vast majority of the poems are about mourning the loss of a relationship that turned toxic because of religious beliefs. The poems could have done with more show and less tell and I feel that would have helped make them better. I feel like the poems being longer would have helped too. There were a handful of poems that weren’t about her past relationship and I really liked the one about being bisexual. Overall didn’t feel like I gained anything by reading this.
