A Study in Scarlet Women by Sherry Thomas
1.0

This book makes me mad. It opens up with a middle aged man having sex with a minor (big red flag) and it doesn't get much better from there. The main character is supposed to be this super intelligent woman but she doesn't show her intelligence until the end. I also had an issue with the insane amount of pov changes, it was unnecessary and took me out of the story. I was rolling my eyes the entire time. One more thing that bothered me: the cadence of the language. I'm all for historically accurate novel structure in historical fiction but this took it too far. It had all the confusing plot jumping of victorian novels without the intricate wordsmithing. I cannot believe the amount of people I have seen say that this novel is on the same level as Enola Holmes (it is not). I would not recommend this to anyone, there are so many better written red flag books.
