This was everything I've come to love from a Clare novel and I loved going back to the Shadowhunter Universe. My only regret is that it took me so long to read this one. I've got some catching up to do on the books of Ms. Clare!

Lady Midnight is after the events of the Mortal Instruments series and follows a different set of Shadowhunters from a different institute. We still get to see some of our favorites though, like Clary and Jace, Magnus, and mention of several others and what they are doing now. We even get to see some people from The Infernal Devices.

The biggest thing in the story that got to me was the laws of the Clave and how the Shadowhunters don't always agree with or understand the laws. I think it will definitely open some minds to our own government and how they don't always know best.

I can't wait to read the rest of the series and the other spin off series that I've missed.
