His Dark Materials is one of my favorite series of all time. So, I was stoked to find out we would get to see Lyra as a young adult! Yet.. I was disappointed. Deeply disappointed. Here's a brief bulleted list of why to avoid long-winded ranting:

- Lyra and Pan's arguing felt stupidly petty and I could not for the life of me understand why they were fighting. Maybe that's petty of me. Oh well, didn't like it.
- WHY on EARTH did we need Malcolm's internal dialogue regarding his love for Lyra?? I found it creepy and uncalled for, considering he freakin' rescued Lyra as a baby and was her FORMER PROFESSOR.
- Plot? Where was it? Nothing really happened.
- The attempted rape scene was unnecessary. That's all I'll say.
