The Depths
by Nicole Lesperance
adventurous
dark
tense
medium-paced
This was the perfect book for the creepy season coming up!
A free-diving girl (Addie) who once died for 8 1/2 minutes. A mysterious island that seems to ever be changing. 2 ghostly sisters that are lost to each other (one can be seen in day and one at night). A boy who may not be all he seems.
The island of Eulalie and its ghostly inhabitants are so vividly portrayed that I felt a little like I was smack dab in the middle of it and felt claustrophobic at times. The island was a living, breathing character and it was so atmospheric.
