I have read every spin off series from the Grant/Ramsay clans and I can't help but wonder if the writing was always this bad?  Neither character was well developed and honestly, at times both MCs were annoying.  Ysenda being so pouty when she was drunk was annoying and Lewis being so worried about a secret that was obviously a lie felt like a waste of time.  More and more the books in these series feel like they are relying heavily on nostalgia, but rather than lift up new characters, it's actually making me wonder what I saw in the earlier books.  There were times where whole conversations and explanations were repeated to another family member, sometimes within the same chapter.  It was as if the author was trying to hit a word count.  And even the reliance on old characters feels misplaced when they do things that don't at all align with who they were in the past.
