Flaws of characters a main focus: Complicated

the idea was interesting - Lexi (main character) knowing how someone else dies  simply by a small touch and the consequences of having that kind of power/knowledge about and from everyone around them as the person constantly seeing the deaths.
that was interesting and for the most part well done.

i did like how Lexi struggled and how some people that knew about what she could do accepted that she touch wasn’t something she liked -understandably- and other seemed to have decided that what she is able to see can’t be bad enough that they shouldn’t touch her. which is incredible realistic. so that was very well done.

as were the parts where her behavior seemed strange to everyone around her -since most people didn’t know that there was such a thing as people with powers/abilities/magic and so Lexis behavior was seen was incredibly strange.

the plot itself -the murrest mystery and trying to figure out who killed the peoples- that wasn’t too well done in my option.

also the pacing of this book was completely off.
it dragged out too much, slowed down or speed up in strange places, some answers seem to just appear in too convenient ways and who did it and why just wasn’t satisfactory or well done, for me at least.
at some points if felt like i was reading a book that was at least double the amount of pages since it felt like i was just slogging along while nothing was happening, and in other moments too much happened -most of not all of it not explained or well explained in ways that made it all make sense.

all in all the idea was a good one but the entire magical system was under explained and underdeveloped and could have been a fantastic story even without the murder mystery aspects of it but as the book is it felt to me like it tried to do too much and didn’t manage to so any of it particularly well.

all that being said: it could have been the translation i read.
the pacing issues and the writing that made it read a bit strangely and how it all came together… all that could have been the translation and the word choices made during that.
i don’t think all if it would be but it’s could be that many of my “issues” with the book are not on the original english version. so keep that in mind also.
