Confessions of a Token Black Girl
by Danielle Small
*listened on audiobook* While a short collection of the author’s experiences with discrimination in her younger years, she showcases a humorous personality in all of the WTF moments that she discusses (and believe me, every chapter has them). She also leaves readers with the thought of why tokenism seems to continue to be the bare minimum for diversity even in today’s society, which is impressive considering how short this work is. She got to the point and that’s what I love in autobiographical works.
