The Impossible Knife of Memory by Laurie Halse Anderson
4.0

I picked up this book at the annual ALA Conference this summer. I wanted to meet Laurie Halsey Anderson and she was giving away copies of this book. This is a YA book with universal themes. Reading this fictional account of an individual living with PTSD caused me to actually consider the ramifications of war and the impacts on the soldiers and their families for years and years after returning. This was an exceptional read and I'm glad to be able to add it to my evolving list of must reads for my students.
