My first re-read of Looking For Alaska started because i remembered how the quotes shaped my teenage years, weather it’s “y’all smoke for fun, i smoke to die” or “i was a drizzle and she was a hurricane”. They were so influential and mirrored how miserable i felt as well. the ending of the novel reminded me always how being alive is a great thing, how appreciation of the life we are currently living can change my feelings of being “sad”. Still the novel is life changing and inspiring for me.
