Green Arrow, Volume 1: The Death and Life of Oliver Queen
by Benjamin Percy, Juan Ferreyra, Nate Piekos, Otto Schmidt
I posted this review on my blog Rachel Reading. For more like this, check it out!
I attempted getting into “Arrow” forever ago and just couldn’t do it. Then, while I was babysitting a family I babysit for, we turned “The Flash” on and well, I liked it. I knew that “The Flash” stemmed from “Arrow” thanks to my nephews so I decided to commit again to “Arrow”.
I got addicted, which is why I decided to try this comic book. I’d tried it before but didn’t know anything about Oliver Queen, or quite frankly, care. But now I care, and I wanted to see if I would like the Oliver Queen of the comics.
First of all, I found it super confusing that this comic took place in Seattle? But hey, as a Marvel fan girl, I’m all too familiar with MCU differing from the MMU. The art and story in this weren’t terrible, but it didn’t really pull me in either. I will be totally transparent in the fact that I think I’m pulling away from comics a little, and I’ve been trying really really hard to get into DC.
I will say, for DC fans who love Green Arrow I have seen that people are really enjoying the rebirth, and I think “Arrow” fans will like it as well, as long as they prepare themselves that it’s not paced the same.
