Not only were the characters unlikeable, but it kept drawing attention to the fact that it was following horror tropes. The protagonist, Cat, will say that she isn't going to do something because it is a dumb idea that gets people killed in horror movies and then proceeds to do it. Just because you've drawn attention to something being a cliché doesn't mean you can proceed to use the cliché guilt free.

Additionally, there are just SO many descriptions. This would make sense if Cat was a poet or writer, but she goes into accounting.
