Blood Defense
by Marcia Clark
This is an absolutely wild ride through the legal system as defense attorney Samantha Brinkman defends a man accused of the murder of two women (his half-his-age actress girlfriend and her roommate) while unable to decide herself if she thinks he really did it.
It's a fascinating story because unlike most detective novels, Samantha isn't after the truth -- she just wants to make sure her client looks good. It's full of suspense and wry humor and enjoyable from beginning to end.
