It was wonderful to read a middle grade story about a young girl going through depression and anxiety : seeing her go through therapy, taking medicine, showing us exactly how that feels.
It makes this important subject very accessible, especially to a younger audience, with characters you completely understand and feel for.
Bonus points for also delving into gender expression, homosexuality and struggles of separated parents.
