I simply can't walk away from book-to-screen adaptations. I can't help that I like to read the books first - and often that means putting off watching a movie or tv show until I get around to the book... but this time I guess I'm ahead of the curve.

Though I genuinely enjoyed Han's "To All the Boys" series, I came into this series not knowing much about the books. I'm not sure if I would have ended up starting this series if I had! I just didn't relate much to this coming of age novel - it was cute, sure, but I didn't feel too invested in the characters or the romance.

What I did really like about it was the exploration of family dynamics and how the adults and the kids experienced and dealt with grief. That part of the book felt very realistic. I haven't decided if I'll keep reading the series... though I guess the ending of the book felt promising so I may have to give book 2 a try.
