DID NOT FINISH
I was interested in this book because the main character works at a magazine - my field. Usually, this means I love or hate a book, depending on the accuracy of the work.
So, when you see I DNF and gave it 1*, you may think it is because the representation of the journalism in this book is wrong. But I have no idea about that, I did not reach a point where there was talk about producing articles.
That why DNF and 1*? Because I really cannot stand the main character. I just really really dislike her, how she thinks about other people and about certain types of jobs. (That last one is even hypocritical in my point of view).
I was at page 76 and felt like UGH. So, I send a text to Evelyn, who had finished this book speedreading because she felt the same way, if it gets any better. She told me no. The person stays this way, and the plot stays as awful. I cannot stand reading this, and with the argument of so many books so little time, I'm putting this aside. My reading time is to valuable to spent it on books I don't like reading.
BUT I do think that if you like chicklits and you're 20 pages in and do not hate her, you might enjoy this book.
