This is my second Roanhorse book and it's got me excited for me. This has the earmarks of a lot of modern fantasy but with some twists that I really loved. I just read The First Sister and in a lot of ways this could be its fantasy sibling. The character building is really good and the world building is also fantastic. It starts pretty slow but the end did feel a little rush. I also thought one of the characters was brought in a little late for the story. Still, I liked it a lot and will for sure read the sequel!
