The artwork is so cute and endearing. <3 You've to have some serious suspension of disbelief (the story tries to address some issues instead of ignoring the elephant in the room), but this wasn't bad. Not sure why the ladies and Read follow Anne to hell and back, but maybe that's unnecessary filler.
