The Duke and I
by Julia Quinn
Get it out of my sight. I never want to see this book again. If I did not value my kindle so highly because it is my main source of literature, I would throw it at the wall.
These people seem to have a problem with consent. At one point a character talks about how inviting another character's "No" is. Oh, and the rape scene that we're supposed to think is not rape because it was done to a man. Why is it that when it happens to a man it is never called what it is, but is referred to as "trickery"?
However much I might like the Bridgertons as a family, I cannot forgive what happened. My vehement hatred started at the last 20% and I had been regrettably enjoying myself until then. Therefore, 1.5ish starts.
And to think I was excited to reread this book for the first episode's release.
