My Name Is Memory by Ann Brashares
5.0

In the world Brashares has crafted reincarnation is real, and Daniel remembers everything. Every past life he's ever had. And through every one of them he's searched for her, once long ago her name was Sophia, then during WWI it was Constance, now it's Lucy. She's just a regular high school student, and she doesn't remember him. ....dun dun dun.

Most chapters alternate between third person 'present' (2004-2009) and first person accounts of Daniel's incredible past. The world was really well crafted and the internal logic of how it works was just explained enough. I'm also a sucker for a good love story, and this is indeed a very good love story. I could really believe Daniel and he is by far the most compelling character. Also, Ben is awesome. I'm not gonna give away more than that, because I didn't know that much going into this (other love story + reincarnation + guy remembers girl forgets) and the most fun was discovering the world.

I was going to give this four stars, as a five star rating has to really wow me. But then I realized I stay up until five in the morning reading this, basically read it all in one day, so that's what bumped it up.

WORD of WARNING the ending is very 'set-up-for-sequely' and no sequel has been announced. I wouldn't say there isn't an ending per say but, just putting it out there.
