I love this book so much!
Not only is the author of this book threadsisters (aka BFFs) with my favorite author, Sarah J. Maas ([author:Sarah J Maas|16190068]), Susan is the reason I read her book in the first place! My train of thought went something like "Wow, this author is really good! I wonder if this Sarh J. Maas could be even close to this tallented?"
I read this book when it was released in 2015, and just now read it again so that I know whats going on in "Windwitch" (which I'm sure will be amazing!).
The characters in this book are beautifully created. I could feel their feelings and thoughts as I read through it. The different interactions and conflicts were so discriptive and realistic, I felt that I was art of the book.
What I also found in the book were some parallels between this book adn the Sarah J. Maas universe(s). One kingdom in the Witchlands is Illrya, and the people are reffered to as Illryans. This is very similar to the Illyrians in A Court of Thorns and Roses series, who are fae people with wings who are trained to fight. Sadly, in Truthwitch, there was no mention of wings - pity!
There was also a part in Truthwitch where the crew of Merik's ship are singing a shanty about a ship and her crew. The name of this ship? Ailen. A little too close to the name Aelin to be a coincidence, I think. (In case you haven't read the best books EVER, Aelin in the main character in the Throne of Glass series.)
However, these parallels weren't such a bad think, and actually made me excited to have references to my babies in them. <3
All in all, it was a very good book, and I can't wait to read Windwitch, and Bloodwitch, whch is coming out in 2018 - I can't wait!
