Jesus and John Wayne: How White Evangelicals Corrupted a Faith and Fractured a Nation
by Kristin Kobes Du Mez
Although it could be a little dense and jumped around in its timeline a bit, this is a great book looking at the power and control held by the white male evangelicals in the United States and how history and politics lead to events like the 2016 Trump election. I found a lot of this information frustrating and infuriating, but important to know in order to better understand the hows and whys of some of the modern so-called "Christian" rational.
