It was a bit disjointed at times but I actually ended up liking it pretty well. I got confused in this world. People can have their shadows taken away from them, make the shadows do things for them.

I did really like Charlie. She's brash but tough. She had to be to be a con artist at a young age (thanks to get mother's many terrible boyfriends). She's always wanted to protect her sister.

The underground world of glomists are intriguing. I can't wait to see what book 2 has in store though as the book ended in a bit of a cliffhanger (to me at least!)
