2,5/5. I had like the first volume and didn’t understand all the hate and the flaws that people said this book has, but now, in the second, my eyes open and I see them all! This book is not really good. All the way through it I just can’t stop thinking that this look like the author write a single book and then decide to make it into a series. It just looks exactly the same as the first one. There is not evolution in the character or in the plot. And Eragon is just to polish as a hero for my taste. The guy always made the good decision, he think of everybody well being before him, he is the better fighter, the best magician, he is now immortal, he can ride dragon, he is the heroes that as promise and so on...This perfect and all mighty hero remind me of my game, when I was a kid, and that I play imaginary game, and I have all the powers unimaginable and when something happen that I didn’t think of, then I just had a new power. I recently listen to and interview with R. A. Salvatore and he was saying that in fantasy he can, has a reader, accept almost anything as long as it respect the rule that this imaginary universe has put into place. You can’t make or change the rules as you go on into the story because that would make it «unrealistic». And I agree with that. Unfortunately the author of Eragon did that, he change everything and always adapt everything so Eragon, his hero, his always one step ahead and just too good in every aspect to make it «real». I will still read the third one, see if it gets better or worse, but this one was a disappointment for me.
