I've heard people talk about this series for years, and I finally decided to see what all the fuss was about. And just, wow! What a book!

I was really impressed with the descriptions in the book of the chimera and their features and peculiarities. This author is great at making you actually SEE the characters you're reading about. The world is so unique too. A land of Chimera at war with Angels is something I haven't read about before. I also loved the little interludes that made it seem like a fairy tale.

I actually listened to this on audio on my Libby app. I think the narrator was excellent in her depictions of dialect and accents as she switched between characters.

There was quite a cliffhanger at the end and I immediately went to see if book two was available to check out. Thankfully it was. I recommend making sure you have access to book two before finishing this one.
