The Day the World Ended
by Lizzie Wilcock
what a cool concept!! this book was recommended to me by my friend Jeremy and is about two twins who are just living life and everyone in their entire town just straight up dies!! just collapses and slumps on the ground and dies. they live this day and then when they go to sleep they wake up the day before, they keep going back further every time they go to sleep (next time they week up it's a month before, then one years then multiple years etc.) and they have to try to stop this from happening. cool concept but this was just so lazily written😠okay I know that this is a ya book but oml. when everyone does they go onto a website and this website literally just explains to them exactly what has happened and whenever they get confused the website explains this everything to them. this was the first book in a duology so I'm assuming that this website will be explained a bit more but it just feels so stupid. like was their no other way you could have explained what was going on in a less boring and zero effort wayðŸ˜ðŸ˜ it felt when I used to read books on wattpad and then the author would put an authors notes in the middle of a chapter lol. like please find a way to integrate this into the story, like an evil villain monologue would be better than this. also, lowkey spoilers but they find out that there are 3 other sets of twins "across the 4 corners of the world" and these "4 corners" are australia, england, south africa, and america 😑😑 I get that the language barrier is something that the author didn't want to deal with but seriously jokingðŸ˜ðŸ˜ you're telling me that there are a set of twins across the 4 corners of the world and every single one is whiteðŸ˜ðŸ˜ okay🙄🙄 anyway, apart from this it was just very tell-y and not very show-y. still gonna read the second one though! 2.75 stars
