dark
slow-paced
Society of Lies Rating: ★★★ (3/5)
Society of Lies has a strong dark academia atmosphere and interesting characters, but it ultimately fell flat for me. The plot had potential, but the pacing was slow, making it hard to stay engaged.
The dual points of view and numerous characters often caused confusion, requiring me to go back and reread sections to piece things together. While the writing was structured, the constant shifts in perspective detracted from the overall experience.
Though the setting and character depth were appealing, the story didn’t hold my attention as much as I’d hoped. It’s a decent read but not without its flaws.
