A Ladder to the Sky
by John Boyne
Wow! Maurice Swift wants to be a writer. He will do anything, I mean ANYTHING to get what he wants.
I honestly felt the first part was boring compared too the rest of it. But it also gave a good base for what Maurice was willing to do or say through the rest of the book. Part 2 is when it really starts to pick up. I was so heartbroken by what he did to his wife, Edith, and to his son Daniel. He truly was a cruel and horrible individual.
I'm sort of satisfied with the ending but also wished for a bit of a different outcome at the same time.
Join Boyne really knows how to tell a story!
