Before She Ignites
by Jodi Meadows
This book was a very interesting read. It jumps back and forth between past and present very often, which at first caught me off guard. I fell in to the rhythm very quickly. The protagonist, Mira, also suffers from OCD and anxiety, and the author does a good job conveying the symptoms and the emotions surrounding Mira as they occur. Halfway through the book I found Mira's constant longing for her previous comforts annoying at times, enough to make me contemplate skipping paragraphs at a time, but never doing it.
Fan of dragons, this is going to be a series for you. From large to palm sized dragons (damned if I don't want my own palm sized dragon) to dragon smuggling/trafficking to all of Mira's talk and descriptions of various dragons, you will share Mira's love in dragons.
While much of the book was a slow burn for me, the pay off at the end left me begging for the next installment. I give this a 3.75/5
