An Absolute Bloody Disaster is a story about Charlotte, a 213-year-old vampire who accidentally kills someone in broad daylight and with it sets of a string of murders throughout the city.
This story was just amazing! I loved it from beginning to end and flew through it while reading. It was hilarious to read and I can’t wait for more!
The story is set up amazingly. The plot is really just trying to solve the murders happening. It’s interesting and with the flashbacks happening throughout the story you learn so much more about the characters, their past and how everything seems linked together. It gives great insight and really added to the story. It also makes me even more curious as to what happened in the past and I want to read more about it.
The characters are just amazing. Naturally as vampires, they are a bit morally grey, and I’m a big fan of morally grey characters. All of them, especially Charlotte, don’t apologize for what they are, how they act and are just themselves. I loved how sarcastic and impulsive Charlotte is! She makes such a great character that you can’t help but root for. I also loved seeing Nik, Pippa, Rose, Xander and Victoria. They are such a great group that I can’t help but want to know more about. Tristan was also just such a sweet boy! He seems to have a heart of gold and just like with Charlotte, I rooted very hard for him.
The relationships between all the characters make it such an amazing found family story. Only Xander and Charlotte are truly related, and their sibling bickering is truly amusing to read. Also, the friendships between the whole group makes me a bit jealous hihi. I also loved how drawn out the progress of Tristan and Charlotte was. It was slow burn in the best way! It didn’t become to drawn out or boring since nothing happened. It felt real.
The ending… it killed me! honestly, the twist at the ending is soooo good and I didn’t see it coming for miles! I was honestly so shocked to read what happened and it makes the book that much better. I love a good twist, preferably one I don’t see coming, and this book delivered!
Overall, I absolutely loved this story! It is full of fun banter, twists that you don’t see coming and amazing characters. I can’t wait for the second book! Just to be the Nth person using this line and being cliché: I absolutely bloody loved it!
