The Canterville Ghost by Oscar Wilde
4.0

Sir Simon, the ghost who haunted the house was famous for giving frights to its previous owner and guests. But when an American family moved into the house and he put 'blood' in the carpet to scare them, they only cleaned the carpet using a stained remover. When he showed up to scare them away, they only made a comment about his rusty chains and offered to help him oil it. The Americans just don't give a fuck about poor Sir Simon's scariness and the ghost quickly became dejected and sad. Plus with all the bullying he received from the twins! Here he is, the most frightening ghost with all his accomplishments, and yet this family ignored him. Poor ghost! A very hilarious short read in my opinion!
